This drawing is an ink layout on the butt of a bolt action rifle. The drawing is of a civil war battle. The stock was to have a civil war theme. This drawing was to be laser cut on a run of production stocks.
The horseman is drawn on the wrist of the stock, surrounded by scrolls. The next scene is of the sharp shooters. Scrolls are used to divided up the scene panels.
The forend drawing is the surrender and signing. All the drawing was done in ink. It would then be transferred to a computer operated laser.

This is just doodling of the arabesque scroll with color pencil.
This is a pencil sketch of Scabby Bull, a southern Arapaho. When the drawing is finished it will be mirrored. This mirrored image will then be transferred to a steel plate and engraved. The engraved plate will be printed giving the image of Scabby Bull correctly oriented.
